As a result, it has contracted Purpan Energies Sant\u00e9, a Dalkia France subsidiary, to design, build and operate its future biomass heat boiler. The boiler plant will have two 2.5 MW wood-fired boilers that will provide 90% of the site&#8217;s heat requirements. A condensation heat recovery system, a very efficient solution in energy terms, will recover the energy from the condensation of the plant&#8217;s flue gas.<\/p>\n<p>This new boiler will consume 9,000 metric tons of wood fuel a year sourced from the local forestry industry.<\/p>\n<p>With its emphasis on renewable energy, the future Purpan Energy Unit is scheduled to enter service in October 2013. It will reduce the future site&#8217;s energy expenditure by two thirds and avoid the emission of 5,300 metric tons of CO2 a year, that is, the equivalent emission of 3,000 vehicles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Toulouse University Hospital has undertaken a major energy savings program and the redeployment of its Energy Unit.
